Poha with Apple Shake





Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Serving 3-4 people


Ingredients:
  1. Poha - 2 katori
  2. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  3. curry leaves - few
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  7. Oil- 2 tbsp
  8. Potato- 1 boiled (will be quicker to use a boiled potato)
  9. Onion - 1 medium
  10. Tomato- 1 medium
  11. Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
  12. Green chili - 1 small
  13. Coriander leaves
  14. Peanuts - 1/2 katori
Method


Poha to drain excess water.
  1. Wash poha with water 2 times to remove loose dirt, strain out excess water in a strainer.
  2. Keep strainer on a vessel and pour some water on poha once more, to let the water drain out itself.
  3. Chop onion, tomato, green chilli, potato and keep aside
  4. Take kadhai / frying pan, add 2 tbsp oil, once oil is heated add mustard seeds.
  5. When mustard seeds start cracking, add chopped onion.
  6. When onion turns slighly brown, add chopped potato & curry leaves
  7. Saute for 3-4 minutes, Add salt, chilli, turmeric powder
  8. Let the masala cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add tomato, ginger, green chilli, saute till looks cooked
  10. Add poha to this mixture , slightly seperating it with your hands so that lumps are not formed.
  11. Mix poha well with cooked vegetables and cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
  12. Either use roasted peanuts or Deep fry peanuts in some oil.
  13. Add peanuts to poha and Garnish with coriander :)
Chef's tip: Add some khara boondi (so famous in south india :)) to make your poha taste great !! Otherwise you can also add haldiram khatta meetha :)

Ready in: 5 minutes :)
Serving: 3-4


Ingredients:


  1. Apple - 2 medium
  2. Milk - 3 glasses
  3. Water - 1/2 glass
  4. Sugar: 4 tbsp
  5. Ice cubes: 5-6

Method

  1. Add all ingredients in mixer and blend well for 2 minutes, open your blender jar and mix contents with a spoon, check consistency, if its too thick you can add some more water.
  2. Blend again with some ice cubes.
  3. Serve it cold.
