Shahi Toast- Making left over bread an awesome Indian dessert





Preparation Time: 10 min

Cooking time: approx an hour (including making rabri)

Serves: 3

Ingredients:
  • Milk - 1 ltr
  • Bread slice - 8
  • Ghee for toasting bread
  • Sugar - 5 tbsp
  • Dry fruits for garnish

Method

Making Rabri
  • Take a non stick pan & add Milk.
  • Bring to boil and then keep on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally (Rabri takes time to form, almost around 40-45 minutes.
  • When milk is thicker of rabri consistency, switch off gas, After 2 minutes add sugar and mix well.
  • Again heat on medium flame for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Rabri
Once rabri is ready, we will prepare bread and serve.
  • Take a tava, heat and add some ghee.
  • If you are serving to guests you can cut the bread in round shape using a glass. else just cut the corners.
  • Toast bread on tava till golden brown.
  • Add to plate, pour rabri, add dry fruits and serve. :)
